Lehman Caves is one of the most highly decorated caves in the world -NPS

Lehman Caves is named after Absalom Lehman, who settled nearby and discovered the cave in 1885. The cave, though small compared to famous caves such as Carlsbad Caverns, is highly decorated with cave formations and is well worth the visit. For the protection of these resources, all visits to the cave are guided by park rangers. Check at the Lehman Caves Visitor Center for walk times, fees, and advance ticket sales. Groups are limited to 20. Some of the cave passages are narrow; camera tripods and backpacks are not allowed. Sections of the trail through the cave may be wet and slippery since the path ascends and descends several sets of stairs. The cave temperature is 50F (10C) year round.
